Highlights of Morocco

Fes’s fascinating leather souq contains the oldest leather tannery in the world, which dates back to the 11th century. Stone pots full of dye are flanked by committed worked, who often labour in the searing Moroccan heat, as they have done for almost nine centuries. From the souq’s balcony, one can glimpse a colourful insight into an almost unchanged Moroccan practice.
