Michelle and Cameron drive through the USA seeing some amazing icons along the way.
Enjoy their story.
We travelled for 14 days from late January to mid February to the USA. Our itinerary started in Las Vegas and included Rapid City, Wyoming and California.
It was quite cold and the mid-west states still had regular snow falls which added to the spectacular scenery.
Everywhere you go in the USA is a highlight! Las Vegas (of course), Hoover Damn, Grand Canyon, Devils Tower, Mt Rushmore & Crazy Horse Monument, Yosemite, driving from San Fran to LA on the Pacific Coast Hwy, Santa Cruz… I could go on.
We stayed at many different accommodation options and the quality varied. We stayed in Circus Circus in Vegas (bit old but very comfortable, more suited to families though, but the prices were too good to miss). Spent a night at the Luxor, beautiful accommodation, fantastic gift shops and incredible Mexican food. Both were on the Strip. The Carousel Motel in Santa Cruz had lovely rooms, with comfy beds.
Our top tip for anyone thinking of going there – drive, drive, drive. Roads are fantastic and GPS gets you out of any difficulties.
This is my second time to the States and I would go back in a heartbeat, I love it.
